Find Your Interior Design Style

If you’re wondering how to find your own interior design style, following your gut is often the secret to doing so. Trust your creative instincts and concentrate on designing a warming home where you feel safe and cosy. Create the perfect place to disconnect and unwind at the end of the day.

No33interior has found herself inspired by the nordic design. For her, it’s all about using minimalistic designs and neutral colours, whilst adding a touch of glam with a beautiful chandelier.

There are many factors that can influence us when designing a home, such as colours, lighting, textures and many others. Let’s see what inspires @no33interior when it comes to decorating her home.

How would you describe your interior style?

I would describe my interior style as Scandinavian with a touch of glam. A mix of minimalistic and plush designs make my home cosy and calm and the perfect place to relax after a busy day.

What are some of your biggest inspirations?

My biggest inspiration for designing my new home has been Nordic design. With its clean lines and simple silhouettes along with cosy accents (known in Nordic countries as Hygge), what is not to love? Having a blank canvas when we moved into our new build last year gave me the perfect opportunity to recreate this style in our own home.

When decorating a room what is the most important factor?

The most important thing for me is to have a statement piece which gives the Wow Factor to any visitors in my home! My love of Scandinavian design but also of beautiful chandeliers have inspired me when it has come to creating my dream interior. Therefore a statement light is often where I start. I then keep my furniture minimalistic so I can add some beautiful Scandi decor along with some cosy rugs and throws to tie it all in.

How do you choose between different colours, textures and lighting?

When designing a space, it is important that it is a place where I can feel relaxed. I keep my colours neutral and calm and add depth when it comes to soft furnishings; I choose light and airy colours for the floors and walls and add depth and texture with plush curtains or sheers along with sumptuous throws. When it comes to cushions, I mix linens with velvets for that luxurious feel and the different textures really compliment each other. Finally, black decorative elements give a beautiful contrast to the neutral colour palette and soft lighting gives the calming vibe I adore.

In which room do you relax after a long day?

As I lead a busy life, it is extremely important for me to be able to come home and switch off from the outside world. I have designed my living room on this basis and it is the perfect place to chill. Cosy lighting, cushions and blankets allow me to put my feet up, rest and restore, ready for the next day.

What do you do to unwind?

After putting my feet up on the sofa, I like to take myself off to bed with a good book. Here, I can get cosy in my beautiful Cuddledown linen bedding and unwind before turning myself in for the night.
